On 1 July 2023, Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. If you still rely on Universal Analytics, you must complete your move to Google Analytics 4 now because Google Analytics 4 won’t start collecting data until the confirmation is complete.
If you don’t take action, your analytics will stop working from 1 July 2024.
Procedure
- Ensure you have the April 2021 on-premise patch or higher. If you don’t have this, you’ll need to install it first. See our knowledge base article, Applaud On-premise - Download Applaud for Oracle E-Business Suite.
- In your Google Analytics (GA) account, set up a Google Analytics 4 property and tracking code for each site you want to track. Typically, you set one up for every site you’re currently tracking under universal analytics. See the Google help article, Make the switch to Google Analytics 4.
- In your Oracle E-Business Suite environment, navigate to Applaud Administrator: Setup: General: Settings: Edit, append the new GA4 code (G-) in the Google Analytics Tracking Code, and Save. For example, the existing Universal Analytics code (UA-) and the new GA4 code (G-) can be added in the same profile option value, separated by a comma. This ensures that both collect data until 1st July 2023, at which point only the G-code will collect data going forward. See our knowledge base article, Usage Tracking using Google Analytics.
