On the Journey setup page, select the journey you want to edit.
From the tabs, select the Activities tab.
Add a Task manually
On the Journey activities page, select ADD MANUALLY.
On the Create activity dialog box, select Task, and from the Category list, select the type of task. For example, you might select a "Preborading" category for new starters.
Under Content, enter your Task title and Task body instructions to the user.
Under the Targeting and Eligibility section, from the Assignee list, select the user's role, for example, "Employee" or "Manager." A manager might have to approve or send something to the new employee. See more About the participants in a journey.
Select Who gets this task:
Everyone: All employees assigned this journey must complete this task by default.
Restricted:
You can select employees located in a specific Country.
If you only want the manager to complete this task on this journey, select the Managers only option.
You can restrict the task even further with the Use a custom restriction option.
Select a Custom condition from the list and enter a Custom value.
Under the Timing section, select when you want the task to start:
At a journey stage: From the list, select the Stage when the task should be created.
When another activity is completed: Select an activity you created from the Dependent activity list. If this is your first activity, there is nothing on this list to select.
If you want to add a Delay in days, enter the number of days.
If you want the task to be Due in several days after you create the task, enter the number of days.
Under the Task action section, from the Action to perform in this task list, select what you want to happen after the task is completed:
Mark as completed: The task status is marked as complete and no future action is taken.
Assign individual to a participant role: Assign the task to the elected person.
Close using custom logic built in the Creator Platform: This is the task created in the workflow. See our knowledge base article, About the Create task workflow action.
Under the Activity status section, choose your activity status:
Draft: The default status. You can return it anytime and edit it before setting it to published.
Published: The activity is ready for use on the journey and in other activities.
Archived: The activity is not available to be selected in other activities.
Select SAVE.
Add a notification manually
On the Journey activities page, select ADD MANUALLY.
On the Create activity dialog box, select Notification, and from the Category list, select the one you want this to be associated with. For example, you might select a "Preborading" category for new starters.
Under Content, enter the Title and body of your notification to the employee. For example, "Welcome {firstname}!" and "We're excited you've joined us. Here is some information to get you started."
Under the Targeting and Eligibility section, from the Recipient list, select the user's role, for example, "Employee" or "Manager." A manager might have to approve or send something to the new employee. See more About the participants in a journey.
Select Who receives this notification:
Everyone: All employees assigned to this journey receive this notification by default.
Restricted:
You can select employees located in a specific Country. Select one from the list.
Select the Managers only option if you only want the manager to receive this notification on this journey.
You can restrict even further with a custom restriction. Select a condition and a value.
Under the Timing section, select when you want the notification to be sent:
At a journey stage: From the list, select the Stage when the notification should be sent.
When another activity is completed: Select an activity you created from the Dependent activity list. If this is your first activity, there is nothing on this list to select.
If you want to add a Delay in days, enter the number of days.
Under the Activity status section, choose your activity status:
