Page headers in Applaud let you display dynamic information at the top of a page. They provide context, highlight key details, and can include quick links to related actions.
For example, on a personβs profile page, you might display their:
- Name
- Job title
- Avatar photo
- Social links (e.g., LinkedIn, email)
Page headers are not limited to profile pages. You can configure them to highlight any properties from a model, such as department details, case information, or training records.
Why use page headers?
- Highlight key details β Show the most important information at the top of the page.
- Improve navigation β Add quick links to related actions, such as edit, message, or connect.
- Enhance usability β Give users immediate context without requiring them to scroll.
Important note
When you add a page header, you must also add the page to a sub-menu. This ensures the page header displays in the correct context and users can easily navigate to it.
Best practices
- Keep it concise β Use the header for essential information only. Avoid overloading it with secondary details.
- Use visuals effectively β Include avatar images or icons to make headers more engaging and recognizable.
- Make links meaningful β Add only the most relevant quick links to reduce clutter.
- Maintain consistency β Apply a standard header format across similar pages (e.g., all employee profiles).
- Think mobile-first β Ensure the header looks good and remains functional on smaller screens.
