Applaud can include visual content in AI assistant responses to help explain information more clearly.
When employees use the Slack channel, visuals are automatically formatted for Slack. If Slack doesn't support an interactive experience, Applaud sends a static image that presents the same information.
Supported visual types
The AI assistant can include the following visual content in Slack responses:
| Visual type | How it appears in Slack |
| Cards | Display as images within the conversation. |
| Carousels | Display as a series of images. |
| Charts | Display as generated chart images. |
| Lists | Display as formatted messages or images, depending on the content. |
| Maps | Display as generated map images. |
| Organization charts | Display as images. |
| Diagrams | Mermaid diagrams are rendered as images before they're sent to Slack. |
Employee experience
Employees interact with the AI assistant in Slack just as they do in other supported communication channels.
When a visual helps explain a response, the AI assistant includes it in the conversation. Employees can continue asking follow-up questions, and the assistant provides additional text or visuals as needed.
Cross-channel experience
Applaud uses the same AI assistant, knowledge sources, Agent Tools, and permissions across supported communication channels.
The information returned is the same regardless of the channel employees use. The only difference is how the content is presented.
| Channel | Visual experience |
| Employee Portal | Interactive visuals where supported. |
| Slack | Static images when interactive content isn't supported. |
