You can override the default pages in Applaud to give employees and external users a more tailored experience. For example, you might set a custom home page for signed-in users, an anonymous page for visitors, or a branded 404 page.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure you have:
Procedure
- On the Admin home page, select Settings.
- In the Override default pages section, configure the following:
- Authenticated users home – Select the page employees see after they sign in.
- Anonymous home page – Select the page unauthenticated users see. This may or may not include a login block. You can also use this page to share content with external users, such as job postings.
- Sign-in page – Select the page to show in a dialog box for employees signing in. This page must include a login form content block. See our knowledge base article, Add a login block.
- Page not found (404) – Select the page to appear when users encounter a 404 error. Consider including helpful information, such as who to contact for support.
- Once you’ve made your changes, select Update.
Best practices
- Use a branded anonymous page to make a good first impression with external visitors.
- Make your sign-in page clear and secure, especially if you support multiple login options.
- Create a helpful 404 page with links back to key areas of the site instead of leaving users at a dead end.
