Learn how to configure and replace the default pages in Applaud, including the home page, sign-in page, and 404 error page. Customizing these pages enables you to create a consistent, branded experience for both employees and visitors.
Authenticated users home
After signing in, users with administration rights see the Admin home page by default. This is also called the Dashboard page, for example:
https://yourcompany-com.applaudcloud.com/dashboard
You can configure the home page to show a custom page instead.
Anonymous home page
When unauthenticated users visit your Applaud site, they see the sign-in page by default. You can configure this to show another page with additional details, such as a custom welcome page that includes a login form block.
Sign-in page
The sign-in page displays the login form for users accessing your tenant. You can:
- Replace the default sign-in page with your own custom login page.
- Configure the experience to support different types of users.
- Add login form content blocks for username, password, and SSO.
If you use Single Sign-On (SSO), the default login block will only show Login (SSO only) or Login (Google only), depending on your configuration. To provide both SSO and username/password options, create a custom login block. See our knowledge base articles, Add a new page and header, and Login forms.
If SSO fails, tenant administrators can use a Rescue URL to access the tenant. See our knowledge base article, Rescue URL for tenant administrators.
Page not found (404)
By default, Applaud provides a 404 page that appears when a requested page cannot be found. You can replace this with a custom 404 landing page that includes more information and aligns with your brand guidelines.
Best practices
- Keep branding consistent – Make sure default pages (home, sign-in, 404) align with your company’s look and feel.
- Provide helpful guidance – Use the 404 page to offer links back to the homepage or common resources instead of a dead end.
- Make login simple – If you support SSO, clearly show users how to sign in and what options are available.
- Use custom landing pages – Create a welcoming anonymous home page with relevant information for unauthenticated users.
