Connect a Slack workspace to your Applaud tenant so employees can access the AI assistant directly from Slack.
To connect a workspace, you first install the Applaud app in Slack, then connect the workspace to your Applaud tenant using your tenant URL and an authorized API key.
If your organization uses multiple Slack workspaces, repeat these steps for each workspace you want to connect.
Before you begin
Before you install the app, confirm that:
- You meet the Prerequisites for the Slack channel.
- You have permission to install apps in the target Slack workspace.
- You have your Applaud tenant URL.
- You have an authorized API key.
Required roles
You must be one of the following:
- Slack workspace owner
- Slack workspace administrator
Step 1: Install the Applaud app
- Sign in to the Slack workspace where you want to install the app.
- Open the Slack App Directory.
- Search for Applaud.
- Select the Applaud app.
- Select Add to Slack.
- Review the requested permissions.
- Approve the installation.
Step 2: Connect the workspace
- Open the Applaud app in Slack.
- Enter your Applaud tenant URL.
- Enter an authorized API key.
- Complete the connection.
Step 3: Verify the connection
After the connection is complete:
- In Applaud, go to Admin home > Channels > Slack.
- Verify that the workspace appears under Connected workspaces.
- Confirm that Slack appears as an active channel.
- Verify that a test employee can start a conversation with the AI assistant.
- Employees whose organization email matches their Applaud account link automatically.
- Confirm that the employee is prompted to sign in if account linking is required.
Connect additional workspaces
To connect another Slack workspace, repeat the installation and connection steps for each workspace.
Each workspace is connected and managed independently.
