Review the following information and set the following profile options with appropriate values:
Profile Name | Required / Optional | Description | Example Value |
---|---|---|---|
XXAS: iCal Database Name | Required | The SID of the current database. If this is not known, your DBA will be able to advise you. Calendar invites will not be sent until this is set. This profile is a safeguard against calendar invites accidentally being sent from cloned production instances. | DEV12 |
XXAS: iCal Minutes Until Next Retry | Optional | If a calendar invite fails to send, it will automatically retry at a later point. Failure typically occurs because the Email (SMTP) Server cannot be contacted – often temporarily. The default value (no profile option value) is 20 minutes. | 5 |
XXAS: iCal Number Resend Attempts | Optional | If a calendar invite fails to send, you can use this profile option to limit the number of times it attempts to re-send the invite. The default (no profile option value) is to continue to retry indefinitely. Once the maximum number of retries has been reached, the calendar invite will be permanently purged and will never be sent. | 5 |
XXAS: iCal Override Email Address | Optional | If set, all calendar invites will be sent to this email address. If this profile is not set, all calendar invites will be sent to the Workflow Mailer Override address. If that is not set, calendar invites are directed to the true recipient. | adrian.buche@a pplaudsolutions .com |
XXAS: iCal SMTP Server Optional | Optional | The hostname of your SMTP server. This can be an IP address, e.g., 192.168.249.1 or an alias such as smtp.example.org. If you already have Oracle sending out emails via Workflow, then there is no need to set this value; the solution will inherit the workflow setting. Emails are sent on the standard SMTP port 25. |
smtp.example.o rg |
It is highly recommended that XXAS: iCal Override Email Address is set on every non-Production instance, including Development and Test instances. If this is not set, you risk sending ‘real’ calendar invites to recipients within the business, even from a test system.
