Use a detail block in Applaud to display information about a single record, such as an employee profile, HR policy, or case detail. A detail block is read-only, making it ideal for presenting data without allowing edits.
You can:
- Choose which properties appear in the block and in what order.
- Add standard text, links, and dividers to improve readability.
- Group properties into sections for a clearer layout.
The detail block is similar to a form block, but without editing, employees can view information rather than change it.
Example use case
If you have a list block showing multiple employees, you can add an action that opens a page with a detail block. When a user selects a person from the list, the detail block displays that individual’s full record.
Best practices for detail blocks
- Keep it concise – Only include the most relevant properties to avoid overwhelming users.
- Use grouping – Organize properties into logical sections (for example, contact details, employment details) for easier scanning.
- Add context where needed – Use text or dividers to explain less obvious fields.
- Avoid clutter – Don’t overload the block with too many fields; use multiple blocks or pages for more complex records.
- Prioritize readability – Order properties in a way that mirrors how an employee would naturally look for
