Procedure
- On the workflow chart, select the plus (+) icon.
- In the Workflow action dialog box, select Create model instance.
- From the Model list, select the model where you want to create the instance.
- The Label box updates with your model's name, but you can amend this.
- Your selected model's properties are also shown. For the property that you want to set the value for, select the drop-down arrow to expand the view so you can select what you want to Base the value on:
- To update the selected model's property instance to a value from another model, select A value from another property.
- Then use the expression builder to configure the new value of your selected model's property value. You can either select Token to see the list of fields and functions you can use or type @ to see a list of available properties or # to see a list of functions. - Triggering - This appears by default. It is the users who made the change to the property value.
- Retrieved - This is the information you retrieved using the Retrieve information workflow action, which appears before this Create model instance workflow action in the workflow.
- Created - This is the instance you created using the Create model instance workflow action, which appears before this Create model instance workflow action in the workflow.
- Then use the expression builder to configure the new value of your selected model's property value. You can either select Token to see the list of fields and functions you can use or type @ to see a list of available properties or # to see a list of functions. - To set the property value to a set value, select A static value, and in the Static value box, enter the value you want the model's property instance value to be.
- To update the selected model's property instance to a value from another model, select A value from another property.
- Once you have set all the property values you want for the model, select ADD.
Once you've added this Create model instance workflow action to create a value, you can use it in later workflow actions such as the Set property and other Create model instance workflow actions by typing @ in the field. The value is prefixed with the word Created.
