Reporting helps you track, analyze, and share business data across Applaud. Create reports using familiar business terms, such as cases, making it easier to answer operational questions and share insights with your organization.
Whether you need an on-demand report or a recurring report delivered automatically, Reporting provides a consistent way to present business data while respecting the permissions and data access rules defined for each employee.
Why use reporting?
Reporting helps you turn operational data into useful business information. Instead of manually exporting data and recreating the same reports, you can define a report once and reuse it whenever you need it.
Common uses for reporting include:
- Monitoring operational activity
- Identifying trends and patterns
- Supporting audits and compliance
- Sharing information with managers and stakeholders
- Scheduling recurring operational reports.
Report types
Reporting supports different report types for different audiences.
- Standard reports are prebuilt reports provided by Applaud for common operational scenarios. You can run these reports, but you can't edit them.
- Shared reports allow teams to work from the same report definition. Permissions determine who can view, run, or manage a shared report.
- Personal reports are private reports that you create for your own use. Save them to reuse whenever you need them.
Business-focused reporting
Reports are built using familiar business information, making it easier to find and analyze the data that matters. Select information such as cases, employees, teams, categories, and statuses to create reports that answer your organization's operational questions.
Related data
A single report can include information from multiple connected business areas. For example, a case report can include details about the case owner, assigned team, category, priority, and current status.
Reporting automatically combines related records, for example, a case together with its raiser and assignee details, so you can build a single report without exporting and manually merging data.
Flexible report definitions
Each report defines the information it returns, how the data is organized, and which records are included.
Report definitions can include:
- Selected data fields
- Filters to limit the returned data
- Grouping and sorting
- Input parameters that allow different values each time the report runs.
Because report definitions are reusable, you can answer different business questions without creating multiple versions of the same report.
Report execution and scheduling
Reports can run on demand whenever you need the latest information or automatically on a recurring schedule.
Scheduled reports help teams receive consistent information without having to manually generate the same report each time. Depending on the report configuration, scheduled reports can also use runtime input values and deliver results to designated recipients.
Report security
Reporting respects the same permissions used throughout Applaud.
Your assigned permissions determine:
- Which reports you can access
- Which reporting features are available
- Which data appears in report results
- Whether you can create or manage shared reports.
This helps ensure that employees see only the information they are authorized to access.
Report activity
Each report run creates an audit trail that records details such as when the report ran, who ran it, the input values that were used, and whether the run completed successfully.
Report activity supports operational monitoring, troubleshooting, and compliance requirements.
Reporting administration
Tenant administrators manage reporting across the organization. Administrative capabilities include managing reporting areas, controlling access to shared reports, assigning reporting permissions, and configuring the reporting experience for different teams.
These controls help ensure that reporting aligns with your organization's structure, security requirements, and governance policies.
