API keys are unique identifiers used to authenticate external applications with your Applaud tenant. Each key includes a secret token that enables secure, controlled access to platform data.
Applaud provides the tools you need to protect your company’s data. You can create multiple API keys to ensure each external application only has access to the resources it requires.
Application API keys
Use application API keys to authenticate third-party apps and integrations. By creating separate keys for each application, you can:
- Restrict access to specific areas of your tenant
- Improve security through key isolation
- Revoke or rotate keys without affecting other integrations
Domain API keys
Use a domain-wide API key to restrict tenant access to internal network traffic only.
When a domain API key is active:
- Access to your tenant is blocked unless the request includes a valid API key in the header.
- This restriction applies whether users access your tenant via a custom domain or the Applaud subdomain.
- You can create multiple domain API keys to support key rotation policies.
