You can choose to let your users sign into your Applaud platform with their phone numbers. To do this, select the Email and phone number username setting on the Settings page.
When you select this option, a new Phone number field appears on the Invite user dialog box:
Once you invite users using their phone number, they'll receive a text message with a link to set their password.
Users can use either their email or phone number to sign in to the platform:
The format of the phone number must be country code and then phone number. For example, +447766554433. For the first sign-in with a phone number, users will be sent a verification code, which they must enter to sign in.
Once you add a user's number, it is stored on the standard Phone number property on the user model:
For existing users, once you change the user name setting on the Settings page, you can add a number for them on the User definition page:
Alternatively you can use use the User model import feature to bulk import user's numbers.
Please be aware that once you add a number for a user, Applaud sends them a notification email to verify that a new phone number has been added for them.
Similarly, if a phone number is removed from an account, Applaud notifies the user by email, and they will no longer be able to use their phone number to sign in to their account.
